First post of 2015!
Happy New Year to all of you!

New Year 2015

I have been quite lacking in blogging lately, forgive me. I have wanted to finish my Europe travel blog before I began new blog posts but I have never got around to finishing it. And after I kept postponing it for so long, I also managed to lose my journal where I kept all my travel notes. Right now, our house is the middle of remodeling and once that is done, I will hopefully find my journal in the process. Until then, I will get back to blogging like usual (:

Time flies so fast.  It’s already been a little over two years from the time when I started blogging. Since blogging, I truly enjoyed writing and sharing my views to you all. This is just the beginning and I still have so much more to write and post about.
Thank you to all my faithful readers for watching for my new posts, I have enjoyed getting to know you virtually. Also, thank you to all my new friends in the blogging community. I hope you’ll stick around. Thanks to WordPress for making this a great two-year experience so far.

This month also marks a different kind of two years. In late-January of 2013 one of my cousins introduced me to the book No More Dirty Looks: The Truth About Your Beauty Products and the Ultimate Guide to Safe and Clean Cosmetics by Siobhan O’Connor and Alexandra Spunt. As a chemistry major at that time, I was really curious. After reading the book, I made the connection of “if it wasn’t good to put in my body why the heck would I want it on my body?” It kind of built from there and I’ve tried many amazing green/non-toxic brands since then. The book is really eye opening and really makes you put things in perspective. It is an amazing book!
As much as I wanted to replace as my skincare, hair care, and makeup products all at once and start fresh, I was a student with a small budget. Getting rid of all my toxic products at once was just too unrealistic, so I decided to start small and build up. Whenever I would run out of a product, say foundation, I would replace it with a clean, natural brand. The first thing, however, I tossed was my shampoos and conditioners. I did a lot of research and would read a lot of reviews before I would purchase anything. EWG was my favorite website the past two years. EWG is an online safety guide for cosmetics and personal care products, launched in 2004 to help people find safer products, with fewer ingredients that are hazardous or that haven’t been thoroughly tested. Skin Deep combines product ingredient lists with information in more than 50 standard toxicity and regulatory databases. It is a great site to get information and knowledge in product ingredients that are safe for you and your family.

And now two years later, I feel as though all my makeup, skincare, and hair care products are finally all-natural, clean, and safe (:
I will be doing a full post soon on what I use, so stay tuned (:
