Where do I begin…
Well, it all started with Christmas 2016 when my oldest sister Diana announced that she and her husband are expecting a baby July 2017.
Although, her husband and her weren’t pregnant yet in summer 2016, I knew that I would be taking a break from traveling to Ukraine for 2017. Instead, my goal was to travel to at least one new state in the United States so I can know at least a little about every state. Things ended up working perfectly because I got the chance to be there when my baby nephew was born. Although, I always get very excited when it comes to traveling internationally, I also wanted to stop and take the chance to travel in my home country. Last year I made a goal to see at least one new state every year until I’ve seen all 50.
So far, I am still on track for visiting one new state a year. Last year I got the chance to cross Illinois off the list. Although, I only visited Chicago, I still decided to cross it off my list. I do plan to visit that state again soon because a really good friend of mine from high school lives there.
Chicago reminded me a lot of Seattle. The skyline was so beautiful, especially on the day I was there. I didn’t understand why Chicago is known as the “Windy City” though. The day I was there, it was 84 degrees, warm, clear skies, and pretty much no wind. I don’t know if I got lucky but the weather was absolutely amazing during my time there. Here are a few pictures I took when I was there. I finished my trip with some delicious Deep Dish Pizza.
This year, I was able to get another state crossed off: Florida
Florida was not originally part of my plans but before I tell you why and how I stumbled upon visiting Florida, I’ll tell you about my time there.
I went to Florida at the end of April this year for 4 days. Everything about my trip was fantastic: the weather, the people, and the new experiences. The first day there, I visited a cute little city called Clermont. Clermont had one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen since visiting Greece last summer. The rest of my time there consisted of Universal Studios in Orlando. Being raised in California most of my life, I grew up around theme parks. I was in Universal Studios for two days before heading back to Seattle on an early morning flight.
And now a preview of why and how I stumbled upon my visit to Florida…
There’s been a new person in my life for a few months now, my first boyfriend, of whom I will refer to as Ace in my posts to follow.
I’m no expert when it comes to dating whatsoever but I figured I will let you know a little bit more about me as he has been a large part of my life this year.
Stayed tuned for more posts in my new category: relationships.
I will continue posting more about travel because my travel fever will never disappear 🙂
